Nundah represents an area rapidly developing within the Brisbane urban footprint. The current development of the Airport link sees a much higher exposure of Toombul to vehicular traffic and thus increase density demands. Its large and adequate Centro Toombul shopping centre in conjunction with the closely located Train Station and Council bus station makes Toombul a desirable location. The site itself lends itself to key growth infrastructure, that is why we have proposed an affordable housing project for 95 Widdop Street.
As a diagram, the scheme is understood as two 3 storey walk up buildings creating a pedestrian plaza between the two 15 unit buildings. This informal plaza will create a chance for interaction between the dwellings as well as visually, the use of colours will act as clear way finding; creating a sense of identity to each unit.
The end development is 30 2 bedroom contemporary units enhancing the character of what Nundah represents.
