Morayfield - Caravan Park

Morayfield Q 4520
Morayfield has seen a dramatic rejuvenation in the recent years. As a suburb of Caboolture, it is only 44km north of Brisbane CBD. The leafy suburb comprises of low-set brick homes to semi-rural acreage and is home to approximately 18,020 residents as of 2006. With major commercial populated along the busy Morayfield road, there isn’t a shortage of demand or restriction on growth in the region.

The juxtaposition of the bushland setting and the rapid development exposes an opportunity to combine the two typologies and develop a functional accommodation setting that sympathetically exhibits the two. Designing developments that celebrate this ecology and embrace it as a part of the design is critical in developing sustainable regions, especially within such an area as Morayfield.

On busy Oakey flat road, the proposed site attracts a high constant population of traffic. With its proximity to the Bruce Highway the site lends itself to tourists connections. The ability to celebrate the local ecology in a development that is based around empathy with the environment is a great opportunity for the Morayfield community. The site has a preserved nature corridor that allows an opportunity to explore it with allocated board walks that can let tourists understand the ecology of the area.

Only 5 kilometres away from the Bruce Highway and with an evident dearth in short term accommodation for travellers. By providing this proposed caravan eco village, we are successfully tackling this problem and opening up the Morayfield community to be enjoyed by the travelling tourist.
